William and Annie Forbes, were married on the 7th August 1903. William was in his 26th year and Annie her 24th. William's younger brother George acted as witness.
From the information found on their first child Lilian's birth certificate, William had joined his dad Anthony as a carter. By the time Lilian was born he was is listed as a Journeyman Carter. Simply put this means he had completed his apprenticeship. Together William and Annie had three children; Lilian Annie, born January 25 1906 at 13 Market Street Huntly Scotland. Wilfred, born September 29 1909 in Burrows, Saskatchewan. Blanch, born July 8 1916 in Seattle Washington. The Declaration of Intent form (left) gives us a little insight into what William looked like. According to the records, William was 5 feet 7 inches (170cm), 175 pounds (just shy of 80kg) had brown hair and blue eyes. William also had tattoos. On on his right arm and one on his right hand. William passed away on July 1 1943 in Tacoma Pierce County Washington. He was 65 years old.
