Not much is known about the life of George. We do know that in 1841 - according to the census his mother Christian Smith is living with him, and by 1851 the census lists him as both a farmer of 15 acres and a tailor employing at least one person - (Below - section of 1851 Census).
George Cobban died on September 5, 1855 aged 46. The death certificate of George lists his cause of death as, Haemoptysis.
In layman’s terms, Hemoptysis is the spitting of blood that originated in the lungs or bronchial tubes. What we don’t know is what caused the condition. However, in adults, bronchitis, bronchogenic carcinoma, and pneumonia are the major causes.
We know that George’s death followed 3 days of Typhus fever.
